CFL/LED:
1. Throw away all the incandescent light bulbs from your home (the classic 60w tungsten bulbs) and replace them with Milky white Fluorescent light bulbs (the Spring style CFL bulbs). If you cant can't, Stop buying any more incandescent bulbs.

STANDBY POWER:
2. Even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy for about 10 percent of an individual home's electricity use. Chargers for cell phones, Stabilizers, Microwaves, Extension boxes and voltage regulators consumes more power even they are not loaded. Make a habit of unplugging them when not in use for a long time. Never use your Remote Control to Turn your TV Off. Switch off it.

POWER MANAGEMENT:
3. Do you know, your computer still uses 10W(wakeup current) power, even if its turned off but still plugged in. Avoid using the Standby mode for a long time of inactivity. Turn it off completely and switch off your UPS. Set your Monitors to Turn off automatically after 5-10 mins of inactivity. Use Black color Wallpaper for CRT monitors. Don't use any screen savers for LCD monitors. Never forget to switch off your peripherals like Printers, Modem, Speakers and USB devices, when not in use.

GREEN PC:
4. Upgrade your computer with Eco friendly components like Mini or Micro ATX Board, 45nm/Mobile Processor, Single Strip DDR2/DDR3 RAM, Single-platter/2.5' HDD, Integrated/Fanless Low profile add-on cards, 80-Plus PSU ( http://www.80plus.org/manu/psu/psu_join.aspx ), lead-free case etc. Throw away your Pentium 4 or Pentium D processors, prefer Core 2 Duo or Sempron and avoid Quad core processors. You can "go green" quickly just by replacing your CRT with a 17/19-inch LCD, which uses about half as much power.

EMISSION CONTROL:
5. Change your car Engine Oil every 5000 kms, Change the Air filter and Fuel filters every 10000 kms. Clean your Catalytic converters every 20,000 kms. Service your car air-conditioning system regularly and prefer R134a gas. For old diesel engines prefer Additives or premium grade fuel to control the smoke.

6. Say 'NO' to Plastics or you have to Live with plastics. Use Cloth Bags and reusable plastics. PVC plastic is an incredibly common chemical used in building materials. Avoid it if at all possible.

7. Reduce human population via humane methods like family planning. If you cant live with 'a' baby, Adopt instead.

8. Stop smoking. If cant, move to E-Cigarettes.

9. Never buy another Top Loading Washing Machine. if possible, replace it with a good Front Loading Machine. Front-loaders lean toward less power consumption with dramatically lower amounts of water and less detergent required. Prefer to wash your cloths at around 15 degree Celsius.

10. Don’t leave the fridge door open unless you have no place for your dog to sleep. Defrost freezers regularly. Avoid Auto-defrost mode. Try and keep the freezer full as it uses less energy when full. NEVER put hot or even warm food directly into the fridge - let it cool completely first. Use more than one refrigerator in your home, if you wish to meet Him in the Hell.

11. Change the Catalytic converter of your Car every 1 lach Kms.

12. Save the world and your money by Carpooling with co-workers.

13. Try to shop locally and reduce the amount of energy required to drive your products to your home.

14. Prefer Wired than wireless. Switch off the wireless features like Bluetooth and WiFi on your mobile/computers when they are not in use.

15. Use Solar Powered equipments and Rechargeable batteries.

16. Take you bath in a shower, other than using buckets of water. Avoid using Water Heaters. Try to share a bath on a Valentine’s Day(?).

17. Clean your Air conditioner inlets and radiators regularly. Cleaning the filters will cut down on the air conditioner’s energy consumption. Avoid replacing the air filters if they simply need a good cleaning.

18. Use the Internet to pay and receive your Bills and avoid Paper bills. Use E-Cheques, E-Cards, ebooks and E-Bills. Prefer E-Mail than postal services.

19. Work as close as to your home or live as close as to your office.

20. Weddings are a major part of our cultures, but they are often expensive and are not particularly environmentally friendly. Think of the massive surge of travel your friends and family need to do! Try to simplify and greenify your wedding as much possible to save the world.
